A Good Samaritan put himself in danger to rescue a driver on Wednesday in New Orleans, Louisiana, during Hurricane Francine’s flash floods.
The incident happened at the Canal Street Underpass when a driver went around barricades and moved slowly through water that reached up to his truck’s windows, WDSU reported.

Why is that dumbass driving around in the storm in the first place? Why does he drive into the water? Is his name Michael Scott?

1. People are fricking idiots
2. The news crew was just going to let that guy drown while they filmed it.

Canal Blvd., right? If it’s the place I’m thinking about, it always floods quickly.

You can get that tool he used 2 for under $10 on Amazon. One side is a window hammer and the other has a razor for cutting the seat belt. It's called a Safety Hammer. Not a bad stocking stuffer.

I’ve got one of these. USB charger, glass breaker, and seatbelt cutter

I was working in the ER in Shreveport when they brought a guy in found inside his submerged vehicle in a downtown alley several years ago after a sudden downpour turned into a legitimate flash flood.
Trying to revive a drowned person is not a pretty sight!
Don’t try to drive through high water, they may find you washed up in an alley.

We watched it live on Channel 6 when it happened. A cop was also there just standing around being fat. It took a bystander to step up and save that guy.

There are big barricades blocking the street when it floods there, so this idiot obviously ignored them.

I don’t fault them. I mean, it’s admirable to risk oneself to help save, but I don’t think it’s morally required for such a stupid dangerous act.

That idiot went around a barricade in the wrong direction to try and cross. Old white guy looked like he was drunk. Hope they charged him with at least DUI. Probably a Trump supporter.
