Just received one: "Good morning, I want you to take a moment and stop EVERYTHING you are doing..."

So I hung up and sat there as still as possible

I don't get robocalls but I get a few 20 person group texts a day. And the boomers all text "STOP" to make it even worse.

I will jinx myself and say I have not had any in about a week. The month before that was really bad.

Should’ve told that robot to shut the hell up. Show those bastards they won’t take over the world that easily.

The FCC recently handed out some robocall regulations. Scam calls are up just to show how dickless the FCC really is.

Robocalls should be illegal.

Some guy at my work gets telemarketer calls every day and he gets so angry whenever they try to talk to him and he just says, "Why don't you get a real job you stupid, useless mother fricker."

I tell him the more you answer, the more they're gonna call you. Unless it's a number saved in your contacts, don't answer. He never learns though.

I have to answer calls at work. I love it when they start off saying "Please don't hang up". CLICK

I stopped answering the phone about 10 years ago- unless the name on the ID is someone I know.

Best decision ever.

**Heavy Indian (dot not feather) accent**

"Good morning sir, this is pharmacy. Are you be needing drugs?"

I get this call at least 3 times a week.

This actually isn't true. If the phone rings at all, that confirms that it's a valid number.

I had an old flip phone I never answered, and it never stopped getting calls from random numbers.

Only way to get back at them is to answer, pretend to be interested, and waste as much of their time as possible. It's more satisfying because you get revenge, and it's more effective because it costs them time and opportunity so it hurts their bottom line.

I have an app called "Calls Blacklist" that has a setting that allows the blocking of all callers that are not in my address book. Everyone else goes straight to a voicemail app. Anyone can text, anyone can leave a voicemail.

I don't get robocalls at all anymore.

I used to get them too and once I stopped answering them, I don't ever really get them. If I do it's just once in a blue moon. Guess it may be coincidence.

This is where you are wrong. If you keep them on the phone for 15 minutes and waste their time they are not making money. If everyone wasted their time for 15 minutes their revenue would disappear and it would become unprofitable to keep calling.

I like to answer the extended car warranty ones and wait till the live sales person gets on after the recorded bullshite intro. Then I get them talking and tell them I drive a '69 Camaro SS and ask how much the extended warranty is on that. It's hilarious listening to them fumbling around trying to figure out what to do with that. Then I start telling them about my collection of Playboys back when women had a full eagle's nest in the lower mezzanine and ask if the collection is insurable. By this point, Rachel hangs up.

Equally as frustrating is everyone understanding the robo call bullshite but then not leaving a voicemail if I don’t answer

I get so many sales calls and fake group texts every day that I don’t even look at my phone anymore unless I want to make a call or send a text. My son and husband have their own ring and text tones and I ignore everything else.

The problem for the FCC is Facebook v Duguid opened the floodgates in many ways, the 9-0 SCOTUS ruling took most of the teeth out of TCPA and it is now up to the legislature to rewrite it for the modern world and pass it again.
