Stupid question. Why isn’t the government asking us to wear mask ?

The n-95 might not be available but would wearing cloth over our nose and mouth help a little ?

Because the government would rather frick your life up and have you become more dependent on it.

Nope

Because it can get in through your eyes, nose, and pee hole.

About as useful as your closet full of toilet paper

Better question, why are we waiting for the government to tell us what to do before we do something?

Experts are saying masks do not stop the virus.

A cloth would do about as good as this guy's impromptu mask.

Some people don’t need the government to tell them to protect themselves

What good is a mask supposed to do at this point?

Hospitals and health care providers are dangerously low on masks.
You want everyone to have one?

Because they want the medical professionals to have access to them. Can you imagine if 350,000,000 Americans bought 500-1000 masks each?
They help, otherwise medical professionals wouldn’t wear them.

That dude isn't gonna catch it, period.

Masks are most effective when the person wearing it already has something (or potentially has something) and they are trying to protect others rather than themselves.

N95 helps but then there will be a shortage for medical professionals

I’ve worn a mask, glasses, ear plugs and a condom for the last week. No symptoms yet.

If everyone wore them it would help. They stop the tiny droplets that carry the virus when you sneeze or cough. So even those unknowingly infected would not spread the disease as easily. But they don't really help healthy people.

Heard a expert on WWL last week and he was saying wearing a mask was like trying to stop flood waters with a chain link fence

The PROPER use of masks can help, primarily by keeping those infected from spreading it to others. Most people do not know how or simply just don't use the masks properly.
Where masks do help is limiting the amount the wearer touches their face.
