Suing for every little thing is a huge reason why so many things are fricked up in this country

if this is all boogeymen why are states, who previously stayed open, now closing?
Or we could look at New York. Where they basically let it run its course while doing the worst possible thing for the elderly and now it's basically "gone" or at least everyone is celebrating a day with no deaths.

You keep parroting this line. As if government reaction proves anything. I will ask again for you to post stats and links as evidence that this "pandemic" is worth the response.
And You honestly have that much faith in government? That's pathetic. And scary.
I'd assume it's tied to federal funding of industries and Healthcare and has nothing at all to do with their fear of the virus.

Hard, Republican, Trump-supporting governments
Trump is a centrist classic limousine Democrat. The democrats have just become such psychotic Leftest their centrists aren't welcome anymore.
And I'm not sure what political affiliation has to do with this.
quote:
why are they changing so drastically if there is nothing to fear?
The federal government is printing and handing out money link candy.
If human history has proven anything it's that people in power will choose money and power over anything else regardless of facts and common sense.

See Asian Flu and Hong Kong Flu. These are the comparable pandemics at the moment. Any comparisons to Spanish Flu is dumb at this point.

people were arguing in this thread earlier that this is all political b/c it's an election year

these states could have had their hands out months ago and gotten even more money

there is demonstrable danger of CV-19 (to our entire population, not individually)
There is? What's the demonstrable danger to the 5-60 age range?

quote:Yes. Allowing people to interact more will lead to more cases. This is common sense and I don't know why people are shocked and freaking out over it happening especially with the riots/protests along with July 4th and beaches opening. This is expected and leaders should have been open about it and planned accordingly for the pushback.
it's going to spike back up as they open up

our leaders lying about all of this from the get go has been a major issue moving forward. it's a big reason why it turned so political so quickly

This is the biggest flaw is the “flatten the curve” crowd. Until there is a vaccine, spikes and outbreaks will continue to happen.
This also plays into people’s arguments about not opening schools. You know parents are going to send their kids to school no matter what symptoms they are showing.

100,000 cut in half is less than two of the Flu seasons since 2015 according to your own numbers

i agree, which is why i'm not advocating shutting down but people take very slight, inexpensive steps of personal responsibility
like wearing a mask. there aren't many things less costly than that
obviously, including in this is, not sending a kid who has been directly exposed (over a long period of time) to a public function

our current deaths are at 138k, so half is 69k
and we are just getting started
