To my detractors, please ponder for a second three things-

1) Women are generally zealous about not revealing the specific details of their body count. Even anonymously to researchers.

2) There has been over human history a social stigma attached to sexually libertine behavior in women. It has certainly waned over the past fifty years but still remains to a degree.

3) Understand how “averages” work? Consider the group of women who have had only one, two, three or four partners. According to this study, they are statistically one-half of the women surveyed. (And are logically less likely or inclined to cheat. Agreed in full.) This 50% are portrayed as having 3 or less sexual partners other than their husbands. For argument’s sake, the average is two point something extra partners for half of all women.

Not over a year or a decade: LIFETIME

This is not believable to me.

I definitely know some women who have only had sex with their husbands.

I am certain I know some women who have only had a second sexual partner other than their husbands.

But attempting to prove or even to represent this underreporting is a fool’s errand.
