The suspect has been identified.
Noticed the media only mentioned the street address.

The DNA will not be in for a couple of weeks but the authorities are now saying that the body is that of the missing person! Its not what a parent wants to hear but a sad day for family and friends.

Sometimes it seems like the locals news gets some hints from law enforcement that its a possible mental health type of situation and they stay quiet on it.
If he was up that early in the morning it also seems possible he may have just went for a drive to clear his head and fell asleep behind the wheel.

Alabama news is reporting today that Joshua LeBlanc crashed and his Tesla caught on fire, no mention of the other odd movements. "Authorities said Joshua Leblanc was killed when his 2021 Tesla Model 3 left the roadway, struck a guardrail, several trees, and then caught fire."

Ol' boy was deep in the middle on Nowhere, AL.One would have to work hard to get anywhere near there from Somewhere, AL, much less connected to greater We_Have_Heard_Rumors_of_a_Nearby_Interstate_Offramp, AL.
ETA to add Occam's Razor: maybe he was just taking a late-night drive wandering the triangle of Cullman, Jasper and Birmingham. When I lived in BHM I used to explore that area for old railroad tracks and hidden locations of the Beehive coal ovens along Five Mile Creek. It was a rough drive just in the daylight.

He left his apartment around 7:30 am and drove to the airport and charged his car for 4 hours and then he went on the backroads drive where he crashed.
