In making the best of the worst, I always enjoy this song when a storm is blowing in...

i feel like this storm is going to really show just how much of the wetlands are gone and how fricked people are outside the flood protection system

Tides aren't very helpful either considering the highest tide of the month is predicted for tomorrow around noon for Grand Isle.

Damn that’s not good. GI is fricked if that’s the case

That is probably an overly generous way to describe it. Increasing? Sure. Blowing up? Nah. See the convection approaching Southern Florida with the overshooting tops? That is "blowing" up. The convection near the LLC is still low topped, disorganized, and short lived.
We should see some deep convective burst at some point but that isn't it.

Barry was a puss but it still pushed a ton of water up outside the levees. This one will do the same and may be even worse because of its size and more direct angle of landfall.

that's what i'm saying. i went fishing around lake borgne and the rigolets the other day for the first time in a while and it's shocking how much marsh is just straight up fricking gone. i've been going out there fishing my whole life and it's just unreal

So as of now landfall will be a little west of Dulac?

So Dularge? I’m glad I got my camp out of there earlier this year

I mean, it's all relative I guess. LA tides are unique across the word in their mildness, so we're talking about a 2 foot or so difference between best and worst case scenario on a given day.

I'm sure your neighbors feel the same way.

I know it is said with most every storm, but I learn something new from Levi and Tropical Tidbits with every storm there is.

Levi is great. Very middle of the road.
