I thought it always makes snowfall predictions, etc.

The aspens are starting to turn up where I am. Nights are starting to dip into the 30s. Fall is starting, but you know, dont hold your breath down on the gulf coast.

Thanks to all who provided good info for this storm!

My in-laws who stayed with us asked me several times “how the hell do you know that?” or “where the hell are you getting this info?”

Ditto.

I live in Florida, but I'm on TD waaaay more than I should be. I was telling my sister and brothers, who live in Metairie and LaPlace, to GTFO of there two days before the "news" was telling them to.

Cheers to everyone in here who added their pieces of info. It helped more than most of you will ever know.

Sadly, we're not the norm in the wishcasting community. A phenomenon I'll never understand.

Yeah, itll be fricking nice for a wave to develop in the MDR for once.

This spinning up around Cuba and bombing out shite has got to stop.

I don't ever want to see anything hit anywhere. A giant hurricane in the middle of an ocean or a monster EF5 churning up some corn is fine with me.

I think it has a whole lot to do with perspective. Those who have never seen the destruction and loss firsthand just don't have the same sense of respect for what all nature meeting humans entails.

Don’t rub it in. I’m sweating my arse off with a fan I’m grateful to have and contemplating a move back to Kentucky.

Parts of it are. Could never move back to my hometown, though.

I’ve got to remember how shitty sleet and ice storms are...

I've always thought a plain-speak, no-nonsense, hold on to your asses type weather platform could gain some interest.

I really miss Space City Weather since moving away from Houston. Something to fill that void would be great.

I'm thinking the same thing about Pierre Part, Napoleonville, and Labadieville. Where is it being fed from?

We got sleet every few years growing up in Shreveport. Couldn’t imagine dealing with that every year.

“Fall-like” weather in Birmingham later this week (lows in the low 60s, highs in the low 80s) according to local wx. Not quite the Labor Day blizzard we used to get on the front range, but I’ll take it. You can always count on a strong gulf hurricane to pull down at least a weak cold front behind it!

Heard hospital was back up but still out on 308 going south. Maybe a line from Morgan City or White Castle that didn’t get hit?

Some of the lines that power the FQ are buried under the ground.

2 weeks before the artic blast/winter storm in Feb I shared Duke and rds' reports to my MIL (who thinks she is the weather God because she watches all 3 local weather reports)...well before anyone else had mentioned a word about it.

Now she listens...well kind of.

Sooooo...don't look at the latest GEFS. Picking up on that wave and more consolidation on 9/7 in the central gulf.

CMC sees it too.
