BREAKING
@WWLTV
: New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board has lost all three feeder lines from Entergy. That means the agency lost 12 megawatts of 60-cycle power to run its newer drainage pumps and is left with only Turbine 6 to make 15 megawatts in-house.
I'm certainly not an expert... but how arent the NOLA pumps' energy sources not made foolproof yet?

Cantore looked a little rattled when the lights went out. I hope he has a safe space

Mine went out near Stumberg but came right back on after 5 minutes. Highest winds of the day right now.

Entergy has several major transmission lines coming into the city that has been damaged. They havent examined them yet of course. Will know more once this passes.

Not to detract anything
But isn’t technology and live-streaming WILD?
50 years ago you’d have to read about stuff in the newspaper. 100 years ago you’d just hear tales and stories and hope they’re accurate.
But I’m sitting on the couch drinking a glass of wine evacuated to Birmingham. And just watching a brave man try to search and possibly rescue people from a flooded car floating on the highway on an I-10 exit I pass every single day.
And we can all communicate and provide data and tips and real time information to everyone here.
Just blows my mind.

Okay.
I need the bad news to stop now, please.

Brought to you by the folks who brought you the Super Bowl power outage. They're the best at being the worst.

Anyone know of a website where I can get estimated wind speeds for any particular location?

Apparently, but I’ve got it now
Speaking of, power just went out, and this one felt permanent.

Well, it's about to get worse but not as bad as it was going to be as of late last night/early this morning.

I moved away from LA last month - have a house in this area that was supposed to close in 48 hours - obviously not happening. Ain’t shite I can do but still a bit stressful.

That is not what was said or tweeted. The drinking water and drainage are fine currently. The sewage is the problem.

8:50 PM CDT #Ida #WobblePlot shows the storm slowing down as it attempts to complete its turn north.
Punishing eyewall winds continue to impact the W shore of Lake Pontchartrain and are headed to the city of Hammond in the next couple hours.
Rough weather continues in NOLA too. LINK
