You need to figure out a plan that gets you with your wife and kids and make it now dude. Roads are clear from another poster. Don’t get stuck out there if you don’t have to. Most know what’s up. Others-its time to get a hotel, get your dependents and have a plan. If you stay, don’t expect help if you get stuck. Simple logistics. Praying for all of y’all and anyone in the this path , from Tx to Fl. Be aware of when roads may get worse. Closures. Waze is still good? Booking.com I don’t know what else to say when I’m not in a position to talk. God bless y’all

I just turned it on. Can't believe they're not reporting anything.

Example of how overreacting to COVID has effects that don’t show up anywhere. They’re likely short staffed bc of the virus and by trying to “be safe” they may inadvertently fail to save 10,000 lives.

What is the name of this ominous song they keep playing in a loop on the weather channel?

I have no idea, but on a scale of 1 to the theme from the Exorcist, the creepy factor is 9.8

If anyone is thinking about leaving.. the time to leave is NOW. When folks wake up to the news of a Cat 4, possible Cat 5 making landfall in 8 hours.. the roads are going to be traffic hell.

Make the decision now. It is better for you and it is better for everyone coming after you as you won’t be on the road at the same time (if you go).

Just my opinion.

Best case: The storm bumps her head and falls to a 2/3 before landfall.

Worst case: A beast similar to Camille/Katrina is about to make landfall.

Where you are matters.. and it is your decision to make. Trust your gut and make a decision. The sooner the better.

Also, shame on sites like USAToday.com .

This should be the major headline in American news to the audience they service. The storm is just a note on the sidebar.

Just a lack of urgency by so many and we should call it out.

Looks like we’re waking up on Sunday morning to a much stronger storm. The parallel to waking up to a much stronger Katrina on Sunday morning is an interesting historical coincidence.

It wasn’t supposed to go over the max OHC until late yesterday evening and combined with an old fashioned diurnal max is producing what we’re seeing. This is a healthy storm.

You can already see on KLIX radar that it has a significant eye wall wrapped around the entire center which means this is a very strong hurricane.

We’re the expense of this calculation. Went from a Cat 2 to a Cat 4 and they can’t even have someone on a Zoom call. They don’t call my shots, but so many people could be better informed if they weren’t just scrolling powerpoints and Verizon commercials.

Oh, I've got a list of folks I intend to make a thread to shite all over once this is done.

But I do want to give a shoutout to LIX. Tropical operations at a weather office are turnaround level time commitments without the overtime pay. Those are some hard working folks who's battle is just beginning. Same goes for MOB, action Jackson, and LCH.

The latest plane is in the storm. Should be getting some updated information soon.

Another plane left San Antonio about 20 minutes ago.

It is clear from Jacksonville, FL, to Lake Charles. Then it is fooked until aboot 10 miles into Tejas. then it is smooth again, until a little spot in the middle of Los Angeles.
