Baton rouge isn't getting 100+ mph sustained winds. That is ridiculous and basically invalidates that tweet.

I’m not saying that guy is accurate, but the NHC tends to update slower and less drastically by design. It’s not a bad thing but it doesn’t respond to quick shifts.

This thread is about to be a gang war between the people in BR vs the people in Nola.

There’s def been a few posts rooting for this to hit Nola.
There's even more posts wanting it to shift back west and hit someone else. And those are definitely because people don't want to get hit.
The fact is, no one wants to get hit, but why people feel the need to openly wish for it to hit someone else is beyond me.

Looks like Ida is following the track direction, just slightly on the right side of it.
Wouldn't be surprised if we get a little bit of a west wobble in the next hour as the core banding on the east goes to wrap around.

I feel like this is the NWS just saying it’s going to bad stop asking us how bad.

If I were JBE, I’d issue an evacuation order for Orleans Parish now. It looks like it’s jogging east slightly, and New Orleans is just too vulnerable to any minor storm….and this is probably not going to be minor.

This is my first hurricane thread I’ve actually followed (and has really affected me). Gentlemen it has been an honor
We’ll I didn’t say stop following the thread for fricks sake. There’s great information here.
There’s also years old grudges and petty bullshite here. Along with a little pussy sniffing.
But overall…you won’t find a more up to date source for information when a bad storm is headed our way.
Some of them are pricks. But you have to pick and choose. Overall…there’s no better source anywhere when a storm is coming.

It's what I do irl, and everyone is so focused on exactly where this eye is going to be... somebody 60 miles away is going to get 20" of rain, and they're gonna have a bad time.

Hopefully Ida doesn’t knock down any buildings in New Orleans. That would damage New Orleans’s reputation of being able to keep their buildings standing.

So what happened to speed it up or did it? The last advisory showed landfall at 7pm sunday. The 4pm advisory shows landfall at 1pm.
That’s a lot quicker, guessing it has to do with it making landfall further east closer to where the storm currently is though.

I agree. I don’t really care if this hits Nola or not as I can’t leave either way. It’s just annoying these threads always turn into pissing matches. And it really only takes one post to start the fire

Who is Jack Sillin?
I'm just curious because we keep seeing his wobble plot, and it's clearly showing a different path than every other model, and the NHC.
That's because he's just plotting based on what he's seeing on satellite imagery.
I think Slack or someone else said that might not be completely accurate because the center may not be exactly where he's plotting.
But, I've seen other guys showing the actual satellite imagery against the earlier paths, and it was definitely east of those.
