The system should swing a bit to the left this eve as it gets closer to a ridge over NC, but I think it's time to seriously consider eyewall impacts in #NOLA

have a feeling I might not see pop's fishing camp (trailer) in Golden Meadow again. It's protected in a little grove, but not that protected. I'll probably have this page up to watch action as long as it's feeding.
If it survived zeta it should survive this

I think BR is gonna get shite on no matter what at this point. And this dude on wafb still thinks that the track will go back to what it was before this wobble which brings the storm center just to the left of Baton Rouge.

Every single meteorologist from lake Charles to Nola just updated facebook at the same time saying major shifts east to the track in all models and that the nws will update accordingly.
Brace yourself

I attempted to overlay the current NHC cone/track with Jack Sillin's "Wobble Plot" and "cone". I had to enlarge the NHC graphic, but tried to line them up as close as possible. This isn't accurate, just a comparison:

Looks like the eye on the IR loop just collapsed along with shear on the SW side.

20-30 is a few at this point. Yeah, I know, not really what you wanted to hear.
Yikes. That would be between Walker and Hammond. I guess the good news is that area isn’t as populated. Of course that means that the NOLA metro area is now much more likely to see an increase in wind velocity.

JBE is such an effective leader. Very relatable and you can tell he truly loves the people of this state. Wouldn’t want anyone else leading our state during this natural disaster.
Great post John Bel.. Don't you need to go turn on contraflow from NOLA or something?

quote:for those worried about your stove not lighting when power is off. This was was my solution last year: bought one of these (not this particular one). The cheapest I could find.
ust did some research on the gas stove models that can be manually lit during power outage (without workaround).
Here’s what I found.
Took a car battery and set it on the counter.
Took the ground wire out of some romex I had laying around.
Wrapped the wire around the inverter and then around the negative post.
Plugged the stove into the inverter
Press the tip of the inverter on to the positive post.
Light stove.
Profit?
I should of taken a picture. It may sound sketchy but it worked like a charm. I just rested the inverter on the counter and left it hooked up the entire time. It saved me an extension cord and I didn’t have to unplug anything to fire up the stove.
ETA: hit submit too early

Jack Sillin is one of the best young met students working right now. He's very good with numeric modeling. His forecasting is great, too. He does not "troll".
