I just ran to Prairieville from BR and back to pick up a few things I have down there. There is no traffic going east. There is a good amount of traffic westbound on 10. I would not wait to leave if you’re going because it’ going to be bumper to bumper soon. There was gas at Highland and 10 at 430 when I passed. All of mid-city BR appears to be out of gas except at Florida and Foster, which had gas but there are a lot of cars already as of 5 am. I topped off

Yawns.
Bottle given to baby. Baby now happily asleep.
Anyway, had a drop in the storm about 15-20 minutes ago. Shows pressure hanging around 986, but with what IR is showing this morning pressures will start dropping pretty soon.

Getting ready to leave camp in Theriot, La (lower Terrebonne) headed to house in BR. Projected track looks to be going right over camp and house

If anyone is heading west coming to/going through LC gas can be scarce because of the early threat of it coming here. If you take the 210 loop most places will have it unless its any place off Nelson/west side of town.

Today already feels super ominous and it’s making me a bit nervous to be honest. Just not sure what to expect. Will it be another dud like we’ve come to be used to around here or will it truly be as bad as forecast? Will my home be damaged or will I come out of this without a scratch and feel silly for being worried? I almost feel like I need to soak up electricity while I still can because I remember those 13 days without electricity for Gustav all too well. I looked forward to going to class because LSU had power

Yes I’m interested to see how bad traffic will be. Talked to some locals last night and they thought evacuating was crazy…one in a trailer. We will tell that family they can use our camp instead of staying in a trailer with 120 mph winds

Seeing one of these things heading right for your hometown and being so far away from family and friends is such a damn helpless feeling. I get more worried now than I did living down there.

So sustained winds went from 80 to 75 from the 10pm to the 4 am update. So about the same? Is that right?

Thanks Fl. The camp is now protected by a levee but never been rested like this since it’s only a year old.

Fairly normal drop and it slows down so yeah, once on land for almost 24 hours it is only a minimal TS.
This is a bad take. I know you can do better.
A whole lot of wishful thinking in that post.
Borderline peej

Sitting in traffic at the foot of the BC spillway. 2 yo and preggo in tow. Prayers for all yall sticking around.

I don’t know man. The NHC started introducing the idea that dry air may start being pulled into it closer to landfall. If that happens, lots of prayers will have been heard.

Winds are still 80mph. She’s just beginning to shake off the interaction with Cuba and should start ramping up today.

Wait until you start seeing the reports on tv and seeing places in the background that you’re familiar with being destroyed by CAT4 winds.
The video of the Cap1 building in LC being destroyed real time and watching live reports seeing a large casino you see every day falling in pieces last year was surreal. I don’t even know how to describe the feeling while watching it live. It’s hard to watch even a year later.
