Making decisions based on fear rather than science.

Just crossed under 10 at Acadian, I can confirm. FUBAR but moving slowly. Any given Friday + refugees makes for a slow roll

Where to? This isn't the time to be doing a weekend camping trip to Sam Rayburn.

I know, doesn’t seem right, but believe me, we are on high ground and my slab is an additional 3.5’ high.

he lives in one of the highest points south of i-10. if he gets water in his house, this will make Katrina look like amateur hour.

My private meteorologist is stuck in it. He hasn’t been able to give me an update yet.

Advice needed
My wife and daughter are going to leave tomorrow morning. They’re leaving Mandeville and driving to Natchez, MS. What’s a good route for them to take.
I can’t go with them. I have to stay and work. I work in emergency services.
I know Natchez is going to get hit too but they can go there first, I have family there, and if needed she can then go on to coushatta, LA where she has family.
TIA

I'd be more concerned about the wind. Things get for real when your roof flies off and/or debris starts penetrating your exterior walls (if they're still standing).

If my kids don’t quit asking me questions about the hurricane, i may “evacuate” so they will leave me alone.

Yeah this run is a little slower in terms of wind speed, which is welcome. Still gets to 959 mbar but that’s better than what we were seeing.
