I think it’s safe to say that if I decide to sell my home, it’ll probably go quick.

Yea especially with the updates and price range you will be in. The market slowed some but usually picks back up after Labor day

If it has a run to Louisiana, unless it can just never get organized (which i doubt), itll most likely be a major.

Were those pressures "at landfall"? I know Wilma's wasn't. Not sure about Gilbert.

Would be worst case scenario if it takes the northern track.

Laura made landfall at 939 hPa

The Labor Day Florida Keys Hurricane in 1935 made landfall with a pressure of 892 hPa or so they say.

Hurricane Camille made landfall in 1969 at 909 hPa

The official designation for Laura was a Cat 4 right? That seemed like a BS designation. It should've been a Cat 5. Pretty sure they had recorded winds before it hit shore at Cat 5 easily.

Cat 4 was a good designation for Laura. They never officially recorded cat 5 winds. the strongest sustained winds were 104 mph. There were gusts in the 140s but it has to be sustained winds. Sure we’re not going to be able to measure everywhere to find the max winds. But people would be surprised at how much wiggle room and hand wavy-ness they use for hurricanes. Though I tend to agree and think that if you measure a wind gust to whatever level then the hurricane should be classified as that category because you’ve probably got sustained winds to that somewhere.
