I don't trust the St. Bernard pump and levee system so I think we gonna peace out tomorrow AM.

I now have rooms booked for tomorrow in Brandon, MS, and Katy, TX. I feel like Brandon would be easier to get too... but potentially in line for a mess after landfall. Katy will be fine weather wise but I'm worried about traffic getting there from all the people headed up from Bayou Country to I-10.

The Katy rooms need to be cancelled by 4 pm today for tomorrow start... Brandon rooms I have until 4 pm tomorrow.

Plenty.

Of course this is more like if Gustav was stronger and strengthening at landfall.

Put in new spark plugs. Will it start on starter fluid? If so, take off carburetor and take it apart and soak it all in kerosene then reassemble

They were saying the low level and mid level circulations weren't stacked.

They need to be on top of each other to really get the storm strengthening.

It may be more like andrew as it makes landfall...

Right towards burns point and then a pull to the right.

This was shitty news to wake up to.

Just booked rooms in houston for Sunday and Monday night, and worse case scenario, stay until Wednesday and fly into vegas Wednesday from houston instead of from MSY for the LSU UCLA game

Not two centers but the circulation at different height levels arent aligned on top of each other. Tropical systems want to align straight up and down, lets em maximize the wind for the energy they extract.

The post was saying this storm is tilted, which with the shear there now, of course it is. A tilted system can strengthen some but it cant juice much more than strong TS out before its got to organize more.

Don't sleep on the inland rainfall threat. 10 to 12 inches will create problems. Hopefully the usgs river forecasts will update soon using forecast rainfall.

If it does what the NHC currently says it will well all forget who Gustav ever was.

Current NHC path goes right through St. George. Looks like Mayor Broome is pulling out all the stops to keep it from happening.
