Mass panic will now start with the M in the cone.

How much faith should we have in this map here at this point in LC?

It's a bit early for the in house weather MVPs to check in. They are who I listen to.

Certainly not an MVP but we are less than 72 hours out. You would think it is pretty close at this point.

Interesting thing is GFS is one of the only far east outliers remaining at the moment. After tonight, most are setting up shop at a Cote Blanch Bay landfall. some even vermilion bay.

Today will be huge and should hopefully clear up some of these model discrepancies.

I just looked back at Andrew’s path. Anyone else think this forecast path is similar?

Path…not strength. Hard enough to match the path let alone strength.

Is cat 3 the point where you board up? Thoughts?

Cat 3 is when I definitely plan to leave Nola if this path sticks.

Location, location, location, brah.

I would depend on where the storm goes relative to your location.

Direct hit? Yeah, you would board up.

This is as serious as it gets for the New Orleans area, that is everything the weather people are saying.

Said it’s the biggest test for the levees in 16 years since Katrina.

Obviously y’all know this by now , but for the layman’s like me , this is a good way to explain it , in that it’s easy to understand the situation we may be facing.

Am I incorrect? If so , feel free to edit my post

Depends on where you live- how far inland are you, and how close to the track would you be.

NHC. 2 AM Track puts the line 600 yards from my house. We going to catch some fish and shrimp. Can’t do nothing about the storm except try to take advantage.

Storm Pointers from an old guy:
1 - By noon today they will have landfall pretty much nailed down. They have the direction forecast figured out the last 5 years.
2 - They miss strength often but assume it will be at the upper end of estimate for planning.
3 - As both a Camille/Katrina veteran...If you live below I-10 get the heck out Cat 3 or above if you have kids or are older. If a Cat 5 everyone out.
4 - If you are asking if you need a generator in south Louisiana I hope you just moved here from up north. The answer is yes but you should probably evacuate because you are not prepared for days without power even with a generator.
5 - Enjoy the storms while young because once you get older they suck!!!
6 - FU46
