Thought for sure I’d wake up to see the track shifted considerably east or west but nope, just a small 10-15 mile shift west which puts us squarely in the eastern and northeastern eye wall.

Y’all realize official forecast has it still a 2 near Ascension and Iberville? Models have it as a 3 in the location. This could be a generational hurricane for our area.

I have one single place in my home without windows and that’s the hall bathroom. With sustained 100-115mph winds outside, the hall and hall bathroom are looking like the place for me to huddle my family for Sunday night. I’m in Ascension north of St. Amant and never thought I’d consider boarding up windows here but here I am…

Only good news for that part of the state is that landfall is pushed back by about 6 hours with not much change in intensity so a little more prep time.

The 4 AM path update was based on which time of the model runs?

There are models being run now that have moved it west of that 4AM track, correct?

Living in Jeanerette right now, i know damn well the difference in damage from being 75 miles from eyewall and getting a direct hit. For me, thats a huge shift west. Im not anyones fricking weatherman. sorry for inappropriate terminology.

boarding up windows

I helped gut hundreds of homes in St Bernard after Katrina. I can’t recall many broken windows.

My main concern on the northshore is the rain. Considering we've had well above average rainfall all year and the rain that is off the coast now moving in, Ida's rain could cause some issues.

And they're now predicting 6 feet of surge in western Lake Pontchartrain, the rivers will have problems draining.

Today should be Interesting for SELA. The clock is ticking. Wonder what kind of plan a school like LSU can put in place with almost 2 days notice.

Aren’t you the guy who was asking for this hurrricane to hit his area in the beginning of this thread so he didn’t have to pay for a tree to come down?

Sure. 25-50 mile shifts at landfall are not the same as projection center shifts three days out that have been wobbling in the same general range fir some time. There was no big shift here as I can tell.

Honestly most places need to either close or call half a day today so tomorrow isn’t an absolutely clusterfrick- don’t get me wrong- it will be but at least give more people time to pack and GTFO.

Katrina taught me the same thing. It’s a complete waste.

That was indeed me. I guess I’m getting my tree down now and much, much more.

Negligence in failure to remove tree proof. Damage can be denied from tree.
