Apparently, Ida's remnants smacked Annapolis, MD a bit ago with a pretty powerful tornado for a tropical system.

Do yall really think it's going to take a month to get the power back on in New Orleans?

Not in a majority of the city but certain spots.

Entergy guy with JP yesterday made it clear to expect power to come back on across the area from east to west so East Jefferson may see longer waits than NOLA.

Entergy is saying It’ll take 2 weeks to get to 75% power. 3-4 weeks to get to 90%.

I also know what you were getting at so I pulled some data to back up my post.

First cool front in South Louisiana:
2020 - September 18th - High temps 81 degrees, low 68

2018 - September 2nd - High temp 83, low 74

2017 - September 6th - High temp 81, low 64

I can go on but you should have understood my point. Yeah they aren't coming down with massive frequency but they're coming. That was all I was saying.

We’re good. Back at home. Everyone is safe. My House and my parents house took some damage. Kids are staying with my inlaws while my parents take care of the dementia grandparents. Me and wife commuting based on work schedules.

Leaving for the night of the actual storm was the best decision I couldve made. Huge thanks to everyone in this thread with the constant tracker updates and radar readings, etc all night. Without the info when that plane finally made it over the eye as it was bombing out at like 2 am I never would’ve left

Glad to hear everyone is safe, and good on you for making the tough decision to leave.

Hang in there! Y’all have so many thoughts and prayers being directed your way, I can only hope they help, but let me know if I might be able to help in any way.

My parents in Kenner are apparently getting power today. They are running power to St. Jude and need to run it through their street.

The 1/2 am update fiasco is what got me .

I’ll never forget the anxiety as yet another plane was turned around for maintenance. So they launched one out of I believe Florida. And then once that one did get there it made the first pass from northwest to southeast and the thing was a damn monster. We were all waiting for the second pass to the north east eye wall. That 20 min span or so is probably some of the most anxiety I’ve ever felt in my life.

Thanks for posting the graphs and explaining how to read them

That was 303 out of San Antonio (Kelly AFB) Confirmed what everyone knew was happening but couldn’t prove yet. Makes it a little easier to write that check to the IRS to keep the WC’s in gas and tires!
