The parking lot is very clean. No trash strung out all over the place. No Popeyes bags or 40s left sitting out.

All the carts are put back perfectly. Not a single one left out in the middle of the parking lot, despite it being in the 30s right now.

I lived outside of Louisiana during my military and college years and it’s amazing how much nicer and cleaner everything is. Nice little reminder every time I come up here.

I shop at Wal Mart because I’m trashy and poor so now that’s out of the way.

Stop at any Walmart at 930 and it's much the same.

I agree that some areas appear to have more pride in appearance, but there’s also an illusion of the grass being greener in some places.
I went to the Home Depot here to get a router bit last year, and found the router bits locked into a display rack. I got an employee to unlock the rack, and commented to him that I was surprised to see the router bits locked up outside of the city.
His response was that they chase shoplifters through the parking lot every day.

A high volume Walmart is almost impossible to keep clean because customers mess it up so quickly. If you stumble upon a lower volume store at non peak hours it will almost certainly be clean as a whistle.

That's how the Walmart was here before it closed. Mainly Filipinos worked there, great service, no lines, ample and easy parking.

Have you been anywhere else?

Name a dirtier, trashier state that’s as corrupt and screwed up as Louisiana.

A book could be written on our education system as a cautionary tale for what not to do.

I grew up for 18 years in Arlington, Virginia. I've traveled most everywhere in the US that there is to see save for the west coast. Louisiana has a lot more in it (driven mostly by the amazing people I've met here) than people realize. Yes there are severe political issues but somehow people are still able to make good lives here. I've certainly enjoyed my time here and found it to be completely unlike anywhere else (in a good way) in this country. I also like that it has been able to keep its uniqueness.

Louisiana is a shite hole. I was born and raised in Louisiana. As soon as I can I will leave this state. It has some unique qualities but the bad outweighs the good by a large majority. Trashy people, first in everything bad and last in everything good.
