Stop sign PSA:

If it is your turn go. Don’t ‘be nice’ and try to wave someone thru. You’re being an a-hole and screwing everyone up. I flipped an old man off this morning for trying to wave me through and nobody knew what to do.
If it is not your turn pull all the way up to the stop sign and stop. Don’t creep until it’s your turn. Nobody knows what you’re doing.
If you’re already at a 4 way stop and nobody else is then go. You don’t have to sit there stopped and wait for me to get there and come to a complete stop before you go.
Pay attention. A stop sign doesn’t mean play on cell phone.
If it’s two lanes of traffic and one lane is going, then go. You don’t have to wait your turn in this scenario. Stop being an idiot.

General Rule: If you have the right-of-way, take the right-of-way. Surrendering the r-o-w way to someone else who doesn't have it just confuses everybody.

Yeah I frequently wait until I can be reasonably sure the person isn't going to T-bone me if they fail to stop. Not so much waiting for them to complete stop, but at least some significant deceleration.

yep right of way doesn't mean shite when heidi is responding to a post about her out of date wardrobe and t-bones you in the driver's door because she didn't see the stop sign.

In general I agree but sometimes you get that just right mix of capable drivers where nobody has to stop all the way and it flows just right. There is a 4-way stop coming out of my neighborhood in the morning that hums like a well oiled machine with no full stops needed. Feels awesome.

So you're saying everyone who uses that 4 way stop knows the routine and no one comes to a complete stop? Do you live in Basile or Mamou?
I have a 4 way stop coming out of my neighborhood and it sucks when some people choose to ignore the traffic law and roll through stops. But I do live in a major metropolitan area where you never know who is going to show up at said stop.
I'm with the OP. Don't re-write the traffic laws.

They are making sure you won't run the stop sign and hit them. Nothing wrong with being cautious.

Same thing goes for drivers who stop in the middle of the road for pedestrians who aren't at a crosswalk. If they aren't retarded, they won't jump in front of you.

Do you know if a stop sign has white around it, it means you don't have to come to a complete stop?
