How many bullets does the Hunter have?

when I saw this yesterday, my original thought was the 5 gorillas and the 15 wolves

but the hunter is the only long range combatant, and while he would be almost useless in defense, he would be pretty lethal on the attack

the 10k rats seem like a huge problem as well

Give me 50 hawks and 10000 rats. If I control the rats en masse, they will be able to overwhelm. The hawks give me airborne abilities. Which I will use to take the Hunter out first and then I'll have a gun too.

If the 10,000 rats are truly able to put up a defense, they would be a formidable ally.

Regular buffalo or Cape buffalo? If cape, I'm taking 5 gorillas and 7 cape buffalo. 10K rats is intriguing. They would do good for attack for shite for defense.

My initial reaction was hunter + 3 brown bears.

We have to make many assumptions that will greatly impact the best choices.

1. How large is the arena?
2. What is the topography of the arena?
3. How much water is in the arena (and how deep is it)?
4. How many bullets does the hunter get (I assumed infinite)
5. Do the attackers have any sort of coordination/leadership?

Larger areas hurt the effectiveness of the rats (who are the popular internet choice).

Water is a game changer for the crocs, the more water, the more dangerous crocs are, especially if water acts as a separation tool (think river(s) that split the arena).

Hunter is the most valuable but loses value as ammo decreases.

Trees help a great deal against many of the apex predators.

Buffalo are probably underrated. American Bison are fricking tanks and aggressive if necessary. You also get more than 2x bison compared to brown bears.

I just feel the standard buffalo isn't limber enough. They can run through your arse, but one miss, and I don't see it pivoting quick enough. And they horns aren't that large. But they're solid and can we your wall.

If the hunter is on the same level as all the other animals, I see as a huge disadvantage. A gorilla will take a shot and that big somebitch will get to the gun before he fires another round.

10,000 rats plus the hunter with a rifle. Assuming the rats can coordinate attacks, you can put a little over 100 rats on each of the attacking animals and then have the hunter take them down one by one.

Humans conquered the Earth more than 10,000 years before guns, and guns are one of the most significant technological leaps in human history.

The hunter with a gun (assuming ammo) is a cheat code and should be everyone's #1.

I think regardless of what you pick, you're dead pretty quick. The sheer size and weight of the animals will probably result in your indirect death. Animals like that can accidentally kill by crushing you

"Rifle" is also a broad term. If he's equipped with a bolt action then he's also useless- and only as good as his nerve while hundreds of animals are bearing down on him. Seeing is that it's a hunter and not an active duty special forces member, the hunter is probably the worst choice on this list despite having the best singular tool for attacking. I think I could hide myself long enough for one of my predators to take him out.

I think I'd go with the brown bears and wolves. Wolves work together anyway and a pack of 15 wolves would annihilate anything on that list- so there's built in coordination with them. The lions have that as well to an extent, but give me the 15 over the 4 considering the sheer volume of attackers.

I’m probably going 5 gorillas and 10k rats. The gorillas are like snipers - one skull crusher at a time. The rats are like grenades - overwhelming splash damage.
