Prices at TUP look to be averaging $6.84/gal for 100LL.

I think this plane would use JP4, which is cheaper.

ou can’t land a plane like that and not have major damage. Just the props alone are 10s of thousands of dollars each

Pretty great landing.

To glide that plane in is impressive. Good for him.

Of course, being a King Air, I’m reminded of the dude from Louisiana who was able to land that King Air and save himself and his family.

not to mention it will have to be dismantled to remove it and transport out of the field back to the airport shipyard

Thats going to cost a fortune

So weird. Some reports say he’s been arrested. Some say he was killed by police. Some say he’s still on the run. No one knows wtf is going on ??

It’s a Schrodinger’s Pilot situation at this point.

All I’ve heard is that the aircraft belonged to someone else, which would almost certainly indicate that his entry into the cockpit might not have been authorized.

He's probably an AMP or FBO personnel. He'd have access

I really doubt he had a weapon on board and that's the only reason I could think police would shoot him. That's probably just dumb Facebook rumors.

(Barring being in there for some legitimate purpose immediately preceding taking off with the plane.) Even if he worked at the airport and had a key for occasional access to the plane, if he was not supposed to be in there at the time, he would technically be “breaking into” the cockpit even if he used a key.

You still trying to call this a hijacking?
