Basically supposed to be a course of action for students with education issues to help them succeed in school. It’s turned into something that it wasn’t meant for though.
ETA: I teach an upper level remedial math course at our school that has a lot of IEP kids. Mostly it does things like give them access to paras or the ability to have a hard copy of the notes. Every once in a while you get some accommodations that just make absolutely no sense.

I'll be glad if/when we sober up as a society and put an end to this type of BS. Attempting to mainstream these type kids is basically a race to the bottom. We seriously need to bring back asylums.
