Read same story on internet a year or two ago.

Not sure about it's veracity, but it sure does elicit reactions.

Allowing a teen to hurt your feelings is about as stupid an idea as it is possible to have....especially a teen girl. Hell I would be happier than a pig in slop if I didn't have to attend school events.....

I'm not going to judge. None of us know the whole story.

So where was her real dad when she needed a car, college tuition and a wedding paid for?
I don't know. You seem to have a crystal ball, you tell us.

I'm just saying, don't be shocked by a bio dad walking the bride when the step-dad foots the bill. It happens all the time. For good or bad, some bio dads suck, some wanted to be in their kids' lives but get kicked out of the family by the mom, every family is different.

If this is the full story…

Why in the hell did the mom / his wife go along with this? I’d be just as mad at her.

I don't blame him either, but nowhere does he describe her biological father as a deadbeat. Maybe they both deserved a ticket.

Probably so

Aunt would have stayed home .. if bio dad is at all involved in her life then yes he gets invite.

Someone needed to be “left out” so her stepdad could attend.

My daddy (stepfather) and birth father both waked me down the aisle. It was not worth the short would have gotten otherwise.

So at no point does he tell his wife to tell her daughter that a boyfriend isn’t getting a ticket?

Why should he be the one to tell her who goes and who doesn’t? He didn’t demand to be there, but actions have consequences. If she thinks boyfriend is more important in her life then the boyfriend or biological father can foot the insurance bill and other expenses.

Leaving an aunt out is a cardinal sin in black culture. If you think stepdad is showing his arse over being left out, leave a black aunt out of the picture and see what happens.

I honestly don’t see what’s funny about it….being a step dad to a girl is the toughest job on the face of this earth.

But I’ll go on... And lift the banhammer, off of old LucasP.

Are we to read that as a poem, or sing it to the Beverly Hillbillies” tune?

Asking for a friend, of course.

I feel for the step dad / driver but hope he made sure he wasn’t a cosigner on her car note.
