I would never support a woman entirely in this era of easy and rampant divorce. Just a bad one sided contract.

Homeschool.
Ain’t easy, learn to do without sometimes , but just like the widow’s jar of oil, a little is more than enough.

Wouldn’t trade it for anything.

My wife quit her job when she got pregnant with first kid. Has not had a job since, but she probably "worked" harder than I did.

Kids are grown now, I am retired and life has been really good to us.

Funny to see the difference in opinion in this thread vs the long divorce thread.

My wife and I are a team.

“Support o woman” is not and likely self fulfilling path to divorce. Good luck!

Wife works from home and is only what I’d consider busy at her job a week every couple of months or so. On a normal week, she has 3-4 hours/day free where she can get stuff taken care of around the house. I don’t work from home but am fully autonomous to flex her when she is busy. Daughter is in full time daycare for the socialization with other kids and to give my wife a break to get things done during the day. Our system works for us. I personally think, and she agrees, she’d go crazy if she didn’t work at all.

If you base your decisions on the what ifs of a divorce situation, you probably shouldn’t have gotten or shouldn’t ever get married IMO

My youngest is 12. My wife was a SAH mom until a few weeks ago. It worked really well for us

We do stay at home. Refuse to let someone else raise my kid. Why even have them if you’re gonna give ‘em to somebody else all day?

Like I said in the other thread. It takes a large amount of social conditioning and cognitive dissonance to hand over your kid to someone you wouldn’t allow to borrow your car for the same amount of time.

Our priorities as a society are out of order.

True and agree. See 1st post in string.

The spirit of “support of woman” (as an object) is what I am speaking to as culprit of path to divorce.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. I’ve never met anyone that got married and thought it could end in divorce.

But people change. shite happens.

We had a nanny for over 5 years. She became family. She thought just like us and was an absolute godsend. I loved that my kids got the perspective of someone else they were close to. They hear enough from us, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

My wife is a relatively recent stay at home mom and it’s great. I have the freedom to work as needed without the burden of additional house duties. It’s worth the $70-80k we miss out on her not working.

In. I understand that it is hard to make it in todays society on a single income. At the same time I thought there was no greater gift that I could give to my wife than have her be a stay at home mom. Now that my child is a little older she subs at school to help out and does other small jobs for cash just to have a purpose…. But I am so glad she got to spend those early years with the kid.

Would you let your wife have sex with another baw to get a broader perspective on lovemaking?
