Don’t let those north LA Baptist fool ya - they drink heavily.....hell some of the worst drinkers in NLA are deacons at the big baptist churches
Also - those Baptist in NLA have a serious interest in fine wines

Thats actually a good point. Even with the northern half of the state not drinking, Louisiana still has an above average rate

What the hell is going on in New Hampshire?
Posted on 9/26/18 at 11:31 am to GumboPot
West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky are below average?

God Damn new Hampshire.
That's an average of 4.18 shots of 80 proof alcohol...per day. Every day of the year.
When these reports use sales data as a main factor NH always come out at or near the top. The state is surrounded by ME, VT, MA, and Quebec residents who all pay sales tax and deposit on their retail alcohol purchases, and NH was one of the only states in the are that sold 151 proof liquor.
NH people drink, but nowhere near the amount of 4+ shots/day.
Here's an August 2018 article stating that Maine residents make up an estimated 7% of the NH (state-run) liquor outlet sales, which doesn't include beer because it isn't sold in these stores.

Do they not count consumption on the reservations? Because stereotypes exist for a reason.
Isn't one of the sterotypes that they don't really need that much, though?

Correct. They metabolize alcohol differently and don't need much.
My area has a sizable native population.

I have yet to encounter humans that drink as much alcohol as the people I grew up with in Louisiana
I’ve never seen a group so proud of it

How is it figured then?
A 6-pack of Fatweiser is 72 oz of liquid that is 5% alcohol (ethanol) by volume, so 3.6 oz of ethanol. So, you'd need 35.5 - 6 packs to get a gallon of ethanol. Maths.

Take out tourists months for the tourist states and one thing is clear: winter is depressing.

Exactly.
They need to break our state in two pieces for these types of things.
And maybe just actually break our state into two pieces for real

They don't admit it on surveys, or anywhere else for that matter.

I don’t really pay attention to how much other people drink.
I do know our bartender in NYC was impressed with our intake a few months back

I think this is a bit dated. Most Baptists I know down South readily admit to occasionally drinking.

He said Baptist deacons being heavy drinkers.
ETA:
But I don’t really know any southern baptists

I don't know about heavy drinkers but the ones I knew didn't mind a bit of drink at the camp or on holidays.

Conversion of Ethanol Content
AEDS uses an estimate of average ethanol
content in the alcoholic beverages to convert the
gallons of sold or shipped beer, wine, and spirits
into gallons of ethanol (pure alcohol) before
calculating per capita consumption estimates.
The ethanol conversion coefficients (ECC; i.e.,
proportion of pure alcohol for each beverage
type) are 0.045 for beer, 0.129 for wine, and
0.411 for spirits, for data years 1977–2016
(Doernberg and Stinson 1985). Following the
ethanol conversions, gallons of ethanol for beer,
wine, and spirits are summed to gallons of
ethanol for all beverages.
