I lived in GA for 6 years. I went stretches where I didn't have a drink for 6 months. Now back in LA it's impossible not to social drink on the weekends.

Everclear is 95% ethanol and 5% water.

Your typical beer is 5% ethanol, 93% water and 2% other stuff.

They're only beaten out by those desolate, frozen, god-forsaken states N.Dakota and Montana.

I went to that LSU game in Green Bay, and before that saw that some of the highest drinking cities in the country were Green Bay and surrounding towns. As we hopped from brewpub to brewpub we congratulated them for out drinking us Louisianians.

Weak-arse numbers. A 6 pack of 12 ounce bottles is 72 fl oz. That's more than half a gallon. Even if you only drink 1 six pack every 2 months, that's over 3 gallons.

With some of the alcoholics we have in this state, those numbers are sad.

Live in DC and can confirm, everybody and their dog hits up happy hours after work, no matter what day it is.

How is it figured then?

ETA: The actual report says it's based on alcohol sales.

I spent a significant portion of time there. I'm surprised they're not the highest state.

God Damn new Hampshire.

That's an average of 4.18 shots of 80 proof alcohol...per day. Every day of the year.

There is a link the article to the source report, and the source report says where the data comes from.
