My company has reinstated an initiative to get project groups together in one spot. They actually let go quite a bit of their remote employees if they refused to move closer to the main office.

you probably think working more than 30 hours is a good thing too..Times have changed and employers that don't keep up will lose young talent..

you still have to get together for some face time once a week or month..

My point is that many jobs out there now, require an internet connection

A total of 1,100 people are signed up to use the capital region's new ride-share app, Commuter Krewe.

Were all LADOTD staff instructed to download the app to boost the numbers?

It is a Louisiana thing for sure. Bosses in Texas and Georgia are much more likely to approve working from home at least some days a week.

Idky people downvoted my post, take your complaints to Rajeev Suri

I doubt them spending a ton on a new lease in Cypress Waters has anything to do with it

There has to be a middle ground. Where people can work together sometimes and work from home others. Also, 4 ten hour days is another solution.

This 8-5 monday through friday at the office seems so outdated.

There is plenty of talent.

Work with a lot of positions that do this. Good for them, makes them happy. I find we move slower on implementation of projects and strategy because they often miss things or are out of the loop.

I'm all for working less, but while everyone likes to work from home I have found very few that can actually perform well that way.

Feeder roads. Louisiana needs feeder roads.

Has there ever been consideration given to extending I-12?

Maybe route I-12 onto a new route starting around Denham Springs, that kind of loops around NBR, crosses the river somewhere around Scotlandville (wherever there is enough space given the plants), then cut back towards I-10 and merge around Grosse Tete?

Would take a lot of traffic off of I-10 that is headed between Texas and Mississippi. Would be kinda like a northern loop, but would not connect with I-10 on the east side, which means Ascension won't fight it.

The portion of current I-12 from the current split to Denham, or whereever the new road would start, would just become a freeway (maybe the Tiger Freeway)

You mean a loop?

Seems someone would have thought of that

If Louisiana has traffic "engineers" similar to Alabama:

If you’re able to do your job from a “home office” you might as well wear a dress because that’s not a mans job

We moved HQ to an office park that has almost anything and everything you can think of.

I cannot do the WFH. I lose track of time and I have to be physically near my sites if shite goes wonky. An IP based attenuator doesn't solve all problems.
