Yeah, I’ll never run for office either. I just want to pay the mortgage and coach the t-ball team. I don’t need to be under the microscope for the little bit of power to wield.

It is because these two are still considered to be "private citizens," despite their attempts to become locally-famous activists. Posters also get really, really vulgar in those threads.
Mandie is considered to be a public figure, as she was elected into office and is conducting this back-and-forth on her official, public Facebook page.
That is your difference. The admins do not allow OTers to just blast private citizens, although I have seen a few exceptions, such as the time Kibbles lambasted the Cajun Navy for helping in Houston or something along those lines.
They typically let Gravy threads slide because he ran for office and is a public figure.
This thread is also pretty tame.

No thinking about it. There’s no reason for the capable to have their personal lives exposed. They just finance puppet politicians to get their agenda passed. Most highly successful people don’t want people digging into their past.

I agree with you. I also agree that some of the comments are in really bad taste, but this is a marketplace of ideas. Also, it's not like the original posters went looking at the legis bios and accidentally discovered her. She decided to insert herself into the mask controversy by taking a swipe at her fellow legislators on social media

This was a bad move on her part. She probably thinks taking on this forum will make her some sort of hero. Very sad!
