I’m very happy that whoever is in charge of this is allowing them to chase the criminals. LaToya has to be so pissed off about this and that’s what makes it so great
The new governor, more than what Edwards did, which was stick his head in the sand.

I’ve been critical of some of the pandering that Landry has done while in office, but this is definitely something productive that he has introduced.

But if the da lessens charges and judges don’t sentence properly it’s all for naught

Nola has been better than BR, not saying it is good, but BR has turned into a real shitty place to live and work.

Get these "white guilt" liberal judges out of here ... they are doing more damage than good.

NoLa court but with a state AG prosecuting. Governor Landry made a deal with NoLa DA Jason Williams.

This happened in Albuquerque multiple times when I lived there. They'd send in 20 or so state troopers for a week or two and wreck shite.

If the state was really interested in cleaning up New Orleans they would install a special prosecutor under the AG's direction who only took cases from troop nola.
Get NOPD and the DA's office out of the mix.
Then defund the NOPD and redirect those funds to the state police.
It will never happen but I like to hope occasionally.
Eta: wow the AG prosecuting bit may actually happen. Unfortunately the NOPD is still getting taxpayer funds though.

They're still going to be arraigned in NO courts, though, right?
I hate to break it to you, but that just means that the LA AG's office, instead of the Orleans Parish DA's office, is doing the prosecution. You still have the same Orleans Parish Criminal District Court judges and the same Orleans Parish jury pool. So this is certainly a good thing and a step in the right direction, but it's only fixing two of the four problems (law enforcement agency, prosecutor, judge, jurors).

The governor should establish permanent State Police "precints" in the city that patrol and actually police the town.

Still a huge improvement.
