Do you honestly expect car prices to stay stagna t over 12 years? Name anything that is the same price it was 12 years ago?

No. But the rate of the increases have been astronomical compared to other goods.

I’m in a similar boat. 2013 Silverado with 130k that I wouldn’t mind upgrading. But at current prices I’m riding till the wheels fall off.

2004 GMC Sierra with 270K miles. I feel the same way and have for a long time.

I really really need a new vehicle. Bad. I don't want to wait too much longer, but do you think there would be a big difference between November and December?

Looked at the new AT4s a month ago. Dealer only offered me 50% of what I paid for my vehicle after less than 2 years of ownership. They offered me 31k and have a similar model on sale for 53k. Dealerships need to feel more pain for the bullshite since 2021.

2007 Toyota Tacoma...220K miles. But I'm going to keep driving it for a while.

12 yr old F250 with 220k miles. Paid $50k for it new

In today’s dollars, you paid $70k….not exactly a steal but definitely not $100k silliness.

2012 Silverado LT 225K miles and I am riding until the wheels fall off unless I can get similar for around $35K. Looked a couple months ago and they wanted close to $50K for the exact same truck just a 2024 model.

Stupid Louisiana laws requiring dealership involvement

You don’t get re-elected by allowing consumers to go around the middlemen who are bankrolling your campaign and buying you dinner every night during session.

I would be very cautious about buying new vehicles being built right now. All these union issues and I'm guessing they are leaving bolts out of cars on purpose

Mentioned on here before about working almost a year at a Buick dealer, at 1st recovering flooded cars that had just been unloaded when the flash flood hit.

That happened during a GM strike and difficulties. We found nuts, bolts, unconnected wires, cigarette butts, all sorts of stuff under the carpet and padding so it would rattle against the metal floor.

I can’t remember a single one that did not have junk under the carpet out of a total 79 vehicles (Chevy and Isuzu too from a sister dealership across town were brought over for us to clean up).

You can get what people used to think was a normal truck for like 40k.

It’s comparable to what I have now. Plus you don’t have to wait 36k miles to lift the truck to not void the warranty.

I’m still not paying $60 - 70,000 for a new pickup regardless the interest rate.
