Wow. Crazy thread. Can't say I've ever had any supernatural experiences. But if I did I think it'd make a b line to the front door. I saw Amityville and Casper. I know what goes down.

7th, I'm afraid this situation calls for a more comprehensive, in-depth investigation by the OT believers and non-believers alike. Immediately schedule a time where the 20 or 30 of us can come and spend a few days at your place so we can listen, watch, and try to intimidate any supernatural entities. We will work in shifts: some will vacate to wait patiently in the quarter while the others remain at your place, then we swap. I'm sure a lot of us can come donate our time to this...we always willing to help our OT brothers.

When I was in middle school in the Boy Scouts, we took a bike trip to Vicksburg. While we were breaking for lunch at the Illinios monument my friend Casey and I went inside the monument to check it out. There were a few other people in there but no one else from our troop and Casey was on the other side. Suddenly, we heard cannons. We heard cannon fire and gun fire and shouting. He ran over to me completely white in the face swearing he had just seen a ghost. To this day he still swears he saw what looked like a Union soldier fighting. At first I thought he was joking with me but he's not that good of a liar and he never cracked up. He was clearly terrified and we immediately left the monument and never went back.

This thread scares the shite out of me. I'm gonna go head and get back to believing that there is no such thing as ghost for my own piece of mind. 7th, keep us updated on the ghost hunt. IMHO, I'd gtfo of that place ASAP.

Oh, and give these cats a call

My grandmother and I were born with a caul. My sister loves to tell the story. I hate the Q and A that comes with this. It's my opinion that you leave the supernatural alone. I was sternly warned as a child that if you investigate or even acknowledge in any way, you're opening windows that are best left closed. If I ever did see something I would ignore it.

At my old place it felt like somene was watching us from the bottom of the stairs. There always felt like a presence. My roomate and his g/f started having things missing. He'd place something on a table and come back ten minutes later and it wasnt there. When things did happen I would act like I did it and didn't remember. I always told him he was crazy (although I slightly believed), and the more I verbally said this, the less things would happen around me. I guess the ghost just wanted to get a rise out of someone.

Y'all might be on to something here. Shortly after reading this thread, I felt my pants pocket vibrating like I was getting a phone call. Pull out my phone, no missed calls, no text messages, nothing. Are my pants haunted?

My wife watches a lot of the ghost hunting / haunting shows. I believe in the possibility of such things, though haven't experienced anything definitive. But one thing I always notice in the shows is that it always starts slow and if it is a "bad" spirit it tends to feed off of the negative energy people put off when they get scared. The more the people are affected, the stronger the bad spirit seems to get. There would have to be some debate at this point, assuming that a given story isn't an entire fabrication, as to whether they are truly empowering a spirit or if the whole thing is a creation of their mind.

In either case, based on the way these stories go, it seems the best course of action would be to remain positive and full of love and faith... and to avoid being dragged down into a state of worry and fear. If you hang up a cross to ward off a ghost, but are inwardly feeling fear, the fear itself undermines the faith and love that a cross should evoke. Stated another way, the effectiveness of an exorcism or cleansing ceremony likely lies in the strength of faith and positive feelings of those performing the ceremony and the ability to eliminate fear. Bottom line, whether or not it's in your head, you have to have your head and heart in the right place to have a positive outcome.

More likely, you're tweaking... or having withdrawals.

Not me. try to talk to the ghost. Embrace it as a sign someone is trying to talk to you. When you NEVER get anywhere with this, you'll realize you're a frickin retard who's seeing shite or hearing noises from other apartments.

I'm almost positive it's the pants. I pulled them off of a dead homeless guy in the quarter last year.

Very interesting thread. I've enjoyed reading all I the stories posted here. I have one to add as well.

My mom bought a house that was built in the 1920's and converted it into a flower/gift shop. She had a young woman working for her a few years ago; the young woman was also in college and didn't have Internet at her house. Many times she would come to my Mom's store and use the office upstairs to do assignments that required the Internet. One night she sat at the desk to get started and when she did, something pulled her chair back away from the desk. She pulled the chair back up to the desk and tried to get started again. Again something pulled the chair back away from the desk. So she pulled the chair back up to the desk...except this time she pressed her feet firmly to the floor in an attempt to keep the chair from being pulled back again. As she did this, the monitor on the desk was slid backwards away from her. At that point she decided she would just call it a night.

My mom has been in there late at night catching up on paperwork and walked down stairs to go home and saw a little old lady with her hair in a bun. My mom said she looks like Aunt Jemima.

Every night at 7:38, the phone will ring twice and then stop.

There is another business owner who owns the building across the street from my mom's place...He said he was driving down the one way and saw the office light (upstairs) on but when he passed by the front of the building the light turned off.

The women who are currently working for my mom say that they hear noises all the time...the noises sound like merchandise is being thrown all over the store but when they walk in there everything is just as it should be.
