Once you’ve been at the same place a while things get comfortable. When you start at a new place even if you understand the work it’s uncomfortable.

It’s called growing pains. Give it time. You’ll be fine.

We never let them stay for 2 weeks. Turn in your notice and pack up your stuff you're leaving now. Nothing personal but not letting someone who's decided to leave our company hang around for 2 useless weeks.

No matter what you decide don't quit your current job until you 100% gave your best effort, and 100% have another job.

Honestly man, every new job I’ve taken, I’ve had an “oh shite” moment around 2-3 weeks in where I think I’ve made a huge mistake and that I can’t handle it. But after a while, that fades, and you get comfortable in your new role.

Give it at least 3 months before you make any decisions. Worst case scenario, make them fire you.

I’m 6 weeks into a new job. Similar position but different field. I left a company with 10 employees to a new one with 1200. I really wasn’t sure about it after a month in, but each day it’s getting better each day.

I left a big company cush job in January for a small startup. While I don't hate what I'm doing and I'm getting great experience, I can't deny that I miss the cruise control of the big company.

I'll ride this out for a year or two then go back to that world.

The grass ain’t always greener on the other side, but it could have less weeds is my motto. I left my 4.5 year job in October and started with a new company and couldn’t be happier. I was jaded in a profession where I don’t need to be jaded. I’m the happiest I’ve been in years.

YES! I did that about 10 years ago and was lucky enough to get my old job back as the new opportunity was a good bit more money but a disaster in the making.

I lost all my freedoms from my previous job and the ability to effect my outcomes without anyone else's support.

Got a decent raise to go back to old job and so it was a win win for everyone. I will not leave again until I retire in 10 years.

In saying all that changing jobs has worked out for many people I know so give it some time unless you can go back to your old gig now!

I know that, and they seem to know that, I actually got a raise 7 months in during annual reviews even though I hadn’t been there the full year. I just feel very streaky. So things are good, I just get overwhelmed and full of self doubt. That’s my real problem. Self doubt.

This thread has helped me calm the nerves I’ve had this week. Thanks guys!

Starting a new one on Monday. Two weeks training in Dallas and then 100% remote at home. In an industry that I have some experience, but a different customer base than I’m used to working with.

We’ll see how it goes.
