Yeah but how many miles would you drive in an hour at that speed?

About an hour west of Amarillo

Are you going through Metairie, BR, Lake Charles and Houston?

Drove across northern New York state one long summer evening 20 years ago. Heading from Montreal to Dayton. We left around 2:00PM EST and fricking drove forever before it finally got dark. Don’t remember exactly where, but it felt like the sun would never go down. Obviously, our latitude had a lot to do with it, but the westward drive held off sunset for a good while.

Are you going over/under 100 mph? Need to calculate fuel stops and need to know if I’m running at peak efficiency

I don’t know how far, but at 120 mph my gas mileage will be amazing

I have driven from Albuquerque to New Orleans in one day.

Assuming I’m on the interstate, about 550 miles. My car drives itself as long as I stay awake and my hand is on the steering wheel.

What's your starting latitude? And what's the date?
You'll have more daylight on I-10 than I-80 right now. Other way around in the summer.

The Earth rotates 1,000 miles per hour, so if you average 75 mph then you are only making a difference of around 7.5%. That's maybe 30 minutes extra, compared to the person that stays home.

We also need the starting longitude. If you're at the west end of a time zone noon is earlier (in terms of remaining daylight).

At the equator. At the rotational poles, the earth's rotation on its axis does not cause the surface of the Earth to move at all relative to the terminator. That point's motion relative to the terminator is solely due to the Earth's revolution around the sun. The farther you get from the poles and the closer you get to the equator, the faster you travel toward the terminator due to the Earth's rotation, but the longer the path you trace out as the Earth rotates gets.
Your latitude matters immensely.

Depends. If I’m in the Arctic circle in the summer I could drive for several weeks before the sun sets.
