re: Starbucks boots cops because customer 'did not feel safe' around them

I think it’s funny when companies treat cops like this. How are you going to kick them out, and then expect them to answer your call when you need them? Watch that five minute response time turn into an hour wait.

Sorry you live next to criminals?

Wouldn't they be trespassing? Why should the law be applied differently to them? If they don't have a warrant or a legitimate law enforcement reason to be there I'd say charge em with trespassing.

Starbucks implemented a new policy awhile back allowing non paying customers to use their store, patio areas, and bathrooms. The cops should get coffee at Dunkin Donuts and go sit in the Starbucks and enjoy them.

Starbucks also has a needle disposal unit in their bathrooms for when addicts decide to shoot up in the store. They’re hardly a company that makes good decisions.

Any cop that would drink Starbucks deserves what they get.

I love when Uber left wing sky screams like Caltech turn libertarian when it fits their agenda.

And how many family members of your neighbor have been killed at the hands of the same demographic?

Cops are always finagling free shite. Here in New Orleans it's popeyes. I don't think a New Orleans cop has paid for popeyes fried chicken in 30 frickin' years.
I think you are full of shite. In fact, this is one of many of your posts that are full of shite. You have a pattern of shite.
I am quite sure cops get a free this and that, here and there.. but the ones I see pay for their coffee. Every time.
And you are telling me that three uniformed NOPDs can enter Popeyes and order a $7.50 combo x3 and ~$23 of retail food product is just handed over to them. And ALL cops can do this all day, any day, all year long. Costing Popeyes $4 jazzillion a year?
OK. shite-poster.
The rookies have to pay.

Yeah, and those bakers should have charged the gay couple and the transvestite who wanted "specialty" cakes baked with trespassing too. After all, they are private businesses. See how that works?
If they refuse to leave when told, then sure. I'm well aware of how private property works.

Your response is more of an insult to the police than the treatment the officers received at Starbucks, in my opinion. Police are professionals and supposed to act without letting their emotions get in the way. These LEOs are no doubt able to separate the action by a single barista from the policies of an entire company. If this was standard operating procedure at Starbucks, this wouldn’t be news, would it? Take some comfort in the rarity of the treatment.
A couple of months ago, a cop was behind me in line at Subway. I asked the cashier if I could pay for his sandwich. She told me that it was free anyway. Support Subway.

And if they were asked to leave and did not they would be trespassing. Why should a badge change that?

Lol, I'm pretty consistent on this. I was all for the bakers not having to bake gay wedding cakes. A badge doesnt change my stance on an issue. A private business shouldn't have to serve somebody. If Starbucks doesnt want a few cops in their store I'm fine with that. The badge isn't a go anywhere pass.
Eta: did you even read what I was responding to? A baw said the cops should have refused to leave.

That’s a horrific indictment on police if you think it’s accurate

I'm always told by this bunch to
Just "Change the Channel!" if I don't like it.
The offended ween should've followed their own mantra and left the premises to ease their "fear".

I agree. Just find it hilarious when you people all become gov't minimalist at certain times. Super inconsistent.

I’m pretty sure the entire 8th district eats breakfast at the same hotel restaurant daily... if not a good bit of a few other districts too. For free.

I'm a fan of government run public land and state wildlife management. Other than that, gut the fick out of it

Why not? If they make your clientele feel unsafe?
