This is intentional, no doubt.

But majority of med students are female now.

In about 10 years, patients will need to ask to see medical school transcripts bf allowing a doctor to touch them. Won’t be able to trust the physician is actually qualified. I’ve seen what I think was an affirmative action doc in action and the patient would have died had she not changed docs at my suggestion.

Well there’s your daily dose of racism for the day. Hey dipshit, maybe they were the most qualified applicants and they don’t just arbitrarily pick the first 13 white men that applied.

I just downvoted this, and it felt like an orgasm.

I love all the comments about how it was sexist back in the day with all men, and it probably was. But they feel that is justification to keep being sexist now lol

Out of 13. That's 23%. They make up 13% of population. In addition, they achieve far below all other races academically. No way that's legit. Affirmative action in action.

Those were probably at the bottom of the barrel as well, but you got to have blacks there regardless of how terrible they is be, or you is a racists.

And how come white women privilege isn't ever talked about? Those woke white women don't want to have that conversation.

Hopefully this will push competent white and male
Doctors to rural areas and increase the quality of care. The people in cities and urban areas can die with their affirmative action healthcare.

Stanford is obviously an elite academic institution but it's not a top surgical program. Palo Alto is a small community of young healthy people sipping Chai tea next to the Apple Store. If you want to be a great surgeon go to the major cities where there are a ton of unhealthy people, car accidents and shootings. Stanford is where you go to learn how to remove a benign skin lesion. Places like Chicago, Philadelphia. Baltimore and Memphis are where you go to learn how to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Of all the things in this world that should be based purely on merit with zero regard for things like race, sex, or sexual fetishes, surgeon should be sitting atop the list. In fact, I’d go ahead and throw all medical professions on the list as being, or at least should be, exempt from the stupidity of today’s obsession with “equity” and”wokeism”.

If you can find a younger white male doctor from one of the “prestigious” schools over the next 15 years you know that dude is qualified and wicked smart about medicine. Before the last 5-6 years I wouldn’t have cared too much if my doc or lawyer was female or minority, but now I pretty much have to assume they got where they are because of gender or race, not because of qualifications, so I am skeptical. I guess that is what they want, though.

Match has NEVER been a fair process. It has always been poisoned by the nepotism pill. I mean what are the chances that all of these sons match at the same facility as their fathers? I agree it should be skill and academic based but this is just another example of how antiquated and caste like our medical system is…

mean, at some level it’s Stanford medical. They are all going to be very high achieving candidates. They aren’t pulling them from a beautician certificate program.

Stanford and other formerly elite universities will eventually lose their status as elite universities because of this. When these people get into the market place and inevitably not reach the expectations of a Stanford grad then the marketplace will eventually begin to devalue the elite universities.
