Hey, Vato, does this apply to quincinieras? Where have you seen Mexicans sit down, during anything?

For sports, ya sit down. But four people in the second row stand up, and then the decision gets made for everyone else behind them on that side of the stadium. If it's a real concert (Maiden, Metallica, etc.) nobody is sitting down for the entire night, and it's expected.

I know tomes have changed, but I always try to be thoughtful of others.

These days people take pride in being dicks

During the LSU national championship game in 2003, their first in 45 years, we had a dude sitting behind us who barely fit into the stadium seat. He started complaining about us standing up in the 1st quarter.

There used to be a guy like that in Houston (who I assume has died of a heart attack by now) that used to sit behind my dad's seats at UH. Fat tub of goo just wedged into the arm rests and bitched every time my dad or I would stand for a big play.

Randomly won the lottery w/ him behind me at an Astros game and almost went off on him when he threw some chips of ice at my back, but was with my dad and a family friend who didn't notice so I just stared at him and said nothing while he sat there giggling. Weird as shite.

As I've gotten older, I totally prefer the option to sit for a show or game. I don't feel like the music or game is any different sounding/looking when I sit or stand.

Went to see a metal concert last week in a small club packed in and had to stand for 4 hours. It sucked. Went with a 24 yo kid who was done before the last song from standing all night. My wife was like 'we are too old for the shite' and said no more shows unless we have seats. Admit I was a bit sore the next day too.

Yea, done the pit stuff for decades and I'm good with the option to sit in my own space if I'm wanting to sit. However, I do always gauge what others are doing around me and would never stand when most are sitting.

Do you ever stand up during a great play or when a band really gets into it or are you ever concerned about people behind you who aren't into it as much?
Any good or bad experiences? Drugs and alcohol comments welcome.
Why do both?

Story time.....many years ago when Tulane was playing in the Dome I invited a friend of mine to partake in the sadness. After a series we went and got beer. WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE SECTION and he said that he likes to stand to watch games so I joined in with him.

After a while we get yelled at by some Tulane fan who was sitting 3 rows behind us that we needed to sit down. This dude and his wife could have sat ANYWHERE in the section even in front of us yet he decided to be the 2 fans out of 1500 in a 70000 seat stadium to sit in his exact seats. When I explained to him the situation.....that he could literally sit in front of us he tried turning it into some moral thing which just infuriated me. Had he been an older Tulane (or opposing)fan I would have gladly sat down or moved but this twat was the classic example of what other fans see as Tulane fans.

Sadly I can't blame this on being drunk but I decided to go scorched earth on him. I did everything in my power to emasculate him. Every time the team did well I yelled at the other 1496 fans not to cheer to loudly because we didn't want to hurt the pussies ears behind me....I even asked him if he wanted me to go tell the band to not be so loud to not upset the pH of his pussy.

During the 3rd quarter he announced that he was leaving to which I offered to walk him to his Subaru. He tried insulting me by calling me an LSU fan.

Again I can't blame it on alcohol and even my friend who came with me said that this dude was what he thought most Tulane fans were like.

If I could ever meet that Tulane fan...I would ask them what their pronouns are and how does he like raising his wife's black baby.....

Do you stand at church when the pastor’s wife does her solo and demands you raise up for the Lord?

Like I said the seating was very open and (not sure if this was understood) they came in AFTER we had decided to stand. In most every other situation I probably would have been mindful..... but if there 2 people in an entire section and they are standing....just sit a few rows in front.

Gotta feel out the crowd around you. Being the only person standing in a section is a total douche move

I can deal with people that stand up during a concert, it's the ones that sing along with the band that need to STHU and let the band do the singing.

I find that there is a direct correlation between those that complain about standing at football games and those that complain about traffic after they leave a game early in the third quarter. Stay home or don’t leave the tailgate, and please give your ticket to someone that enjoys football.

I stand for my right to stand.
