As a kid I never remembered having to stand in line for a king cake.

In line at Dong Phoung and I've met people from Lafayette, Mobile, Gonzales, and Kenner.

All who came here to buy a king cake or 3 and go home.

Driving prices and lines... up

Social media has made people afraid of missing out on the popular thing of the time. Also it didn’t actually happen unless it gets posted for likes.

King cakes are tasty but I’m not driving 100 miles for what amounts to a large cinnamon roll.

I can see a future "Top 10 King Cake lines I stood in as a kid" subject coming soon from a certain poster.

People do that dumb shite for pies at flying saucer in Houston. Literally camp out overnight in thanksgiving.

I don’t get it

My mom usually just bought whatever the grocery store bakery sold. I don't think I would stand in line for a king cake.

You've obviously never had one. It's soft, whipped icing. It doesn't peel off like a Randazzo's or Caluda's could.

King Cakes are disgusting. They’re just stale cinnamon roles with colorful icing
