Does anyone serviced by Entergy on the North Shore yet have power?

For those that are getting power please put your location so us that are sweating to the oldies can have some hope!

Entergy does not even seem to mention St. Tammany in its updates.

I saw a print out that says hammond and St. Tammany entergy customers not until Sept 17. Wtf? It had New Orleans on the 8th.

Saw that to. Really think its for 100% completion and that people will get it on as they go.

The reference to the 17th cannot be real, right? That would be third-world-level ineptitude.

i would be shocked if i had power in hammond by the 17th. its just too much work in some areas.
they will likely get the town itself mostly lit up well before then, but the neighborhoods on wooded streets (ie: mine and most like mine) will be much longer

WST cleared the trees on power lines and broken power poles on Labarre between 59 and Jackson. They service a small portion of Marigny Trace and will finish in the morning.
Anyone have an update of this area.

Can you go check on Serenity Dr.?
I'm still at work, my MIL let me know. I'm pretty sure the entire neighborhood is on the same grid though.
I can check when I get home though

Anyone else hearing 10-14 days for CCC, Riverwood and River Oaks?

Yeah, well, we're in Louisiana.
What would it take for us to just change the grid? Why aren't we generating our own power in a decentralized node-based grid system?
Any building can be powered by solar, wind, ng, whatever it can, and then feeding the surplus back into the greater grid. Substations can be battery backups and node connectors creating clusters.
Entergy/Cleco/Whoever can charge us to maintain this, and the worst that happens in storms like this is individual nodes or clusters go down - but never any massive widespread failure like we're seeing here.
Sorry for the rant, but saying it's third world because we can't repair an outdated grid is not why it's third world. It's third world because we're stuck thinking about things like it's still the 1950s.
