Neighbor just informed us that power is back in Rosedown.

Hope that’s a good sign for the rest of Sharp Rd….

No need to turn the thread political. I like Clay a lot and seems like he’s doing whatever he can here.

I’m in CCC. 75% of the homes here received little or no damage. I’m thinking 90% have trees down or a tree from a neighbor on their lot.

It’s a mess, for sure. Driving around, 1 in 4 houses or so have had a tree hit some part of their structure. 1 or 2 at the end of Tchefuncte flooded.

Both neighborhoods were hammered. Driving through is very sad.

A Cleco lineman told a relative of mine to expect power back on West Causeway Approach today. She lives by Mandeville High.

Not sure. Don’t know anyone in the eastern half of Rosedown. I’ll let you know if I hear back though

I’m in the “have nots” half. Cheers!

I don’t really get how people are so mad at their reps in a situation like this when everyone is out of power

The big issue is they should be cutting back all these trees all year that they let just grow through and tangled with all the power lines.

You answered your comment in one way there. It’s a lack of diligent preparation in advance for an area that is prone to hurricanes. On the private level, these electric companies should have to provide a thorough game plan in the event of a hurricane (resource allocation, communication clarity, etc).

On the public level, our tax dollars pay for individuals whose literal job is to be prepared for hurricanes (gas staging areas, identifying gas stations in advance to cleanup, get power to, and begin service to citizens within a radius, holding electric companies accountable, etc). I’ve been very disappointed in St. Tammany parish. One of the most tax wealthy parish/county’s in this area but leadership has their head in their own arse.

I know they’ve pruned the hell out of the trees along 22 west in the past.

Mike Cooper has had a deer in the headlights look since day one. I'm not saying I could do any better but I didn't run for the office, he did.

From "evaluating" to WE HAVE POWER happened to us after Delta. Entergy didn't send many updates but who really wanted to hear "we don't know"?? Was cooking dinner on the hibachi grill and all of a sudden everything came on.
