Due to the level of your postings here, I’ll buy ya a beer, anytime, anywhere.

That’s just the kind of person I am.

How much beer does the average man drink? I doubt it's enough to overtake poor diet and lack of exercise as the #1 cause.

I quit drinking beer for lent and already down 5 lbs. I didn’t even drink much throughout the week either, maybe 12 beers a week. Those hazy ipa’s and stouts are like 400 cal. If I can lose 20lbs without changing anything else in my diet in these 40 days I may throw out beer all together.

I quit it about 3 years ago, and I've never felt better. I'm now just Bourbon on the rocks, and I'd never go back. I'll still drink a beer from time to time because I like the taste, but if I'm going out and gonna be putting down a few it's always just straight Bourbon on the rocks.

I can drink tons of em all night and wake up feeling relatively fine. I do that with a shitton of beer, and I am wrecked the next day. I'm also physically in easily the best shape of my life.

I'm the opposite. I pretty much only drink beer when I go out but almost never at home.

OP, if Zion Williamson stopped drinking beer would be be a #1 pick to you?

Beer doesn’t really have that many calories per 12oz. What has less? It’s simply the over consumption. You could say the same thing about any type of food or beverage.

I drink beer all the time.

Big, calorie rich craft beer too.

Not even close to being fat.

I only drink bourbon at weddings or before dinner now. The older I get the worse the hangover and drunk I get on the brown. It sucks because for the past 5 years or so I spent a bunch of money on bourbon. I have about $1000 worth of the stuff in my bar.

My Goto now are wine, champagne and vodka. My wife got me hooked on the Truly and White Claws hard seltzer’s to drink around the house or at the beach.

In my early 20s I probably put away 2-3 cases a week. I wasn't fat but I worked out a lot more at that age too.

I drink 6-10 beers or glasses of wine per week now. I rarely drink liquor. I like it but we don't get along very well.

I agree. Most fat people I know drink a lot of beer and always have a bullshite excuse why they just have to. Mostly centered around holidays, games, events, etc. basically stuff that occurs multiple times a week that gives them excuses to be fat.

Same. I used to drink lots of beer and was in better shape than I am now. But I exercised more then.

I'm not fat but definitely have a bit of a dad bod at 41. I honestly don't give a shite if I have washboard abs at this age. As long as my pants still fit I'm good.

I'll probably have a few manning the grill later

I saw s lot of hot chicks with these kind of guys yesterday at a stpattys day parade. So maybe those guys know something you don’t.

I’ve noticed a trend of women choosing overweight partners. One theory I have is that many women are driven to compete with friends on social media and many overweight males do lots of “fun” things that give the woman a chance to blast out pics on Facebook, etc. Things like going to bars or restaurants or events that focus on drinking/eating. In shape folks go to the gym, go on hikes, etc. and those take effort by the woman or are not social enough. Trips to a bar or a full day of tailgating are less frequent.

Another theory is that these women don’t want a man whose physique makes the woman feel guilty for not watching her weight, too.

Or maybe this is just an anecdotal observation of mine.

I’m currently drinking a St Patrick’s themed stout that’s ~250 calories. I’m 100lbs.

All about balance, my friend.
