Schwag, I was disagreeing with reedus who said all this chaos could have been avoided had the police put out their version of the story right away...

Yup, people who aren't working and can sit on a grand jury for the length of time.... How long is it, 3mo or 6mo? I'm pretty sure its one of the two.

Totally disagree with you. The locals were going to run with the unarmed black teenager (who was about to go to college) being shot unjustly by white officer in broad daylight in middle of the street as he walked to grandma's house...whether the cops put out their version or not right away. Just go to the first post in this thread and read the initial article on this story...

I alluded to this on page one. It is no mystery why.

Urban police have built negative goodwill in these low income, high crime areas through years of ridiculous tactics and policy shifts.

If they would have come out with what they "knew" right away, it would have kept Krump and Sharpton and Jackson away. If they stay away, the radicals don't come into town. Would people have still been mad? Certainly. But I don't think it ever would have escalated to the point it has now.

there are different types of agents. we used cx and cs for crowd control in iraq. im not saying you are wrong but it would be good to see a citation.

I don't agree with that. White cop killed a black kid, Jesse and Al aren't staying away from that no matter the "facts."

btw, its hidden way back now... But for those that haven't heard, it sounds like a majority of those business that were looted are not going to open back up.

They interviewed the owner of the hair salon that was hit twice and she said that they are done. Not worth it anymore

The honest protestors need to take control back from the thugs that are ruining their city.

Come on, the version of the police would have contrasted sharply with that of the initial eyewitnesses...throw in the fact that it was in broad daylight in the middle of the street and by a white cop, and there was nothing the police could have said to stop this.

They don't trust the police so the initial eyewitness reports were going to be what the locals ran with.

A key player in these protest is Malik Zulu Shabazz.

He is the former leader of the Black Panther group. He claims he can control the crowds and he was front and center last night. He stated in some interviews yesterday that he wants justice. He's being peaceful now, but I guarantee you if he doesn't get what he wants, he will incite the crowd and turn them loose. No telling what he is capable of and what tricks he has up his sleeves.

Yep. And also interesting is that someone brought up Trayvon 2.0...

The Grand Jury is composed of twelve citizens who are chosen at random by a circuit judge, who presides over the Grand Jury. A new Grand Jury is chosen for each of the three Terms of Court held each year. Since the St. Louis County Grand Jury meets every Wednesday during the term, a Grand Juror can expect to serve approximately sixteen to twenty days during that period.

It is banned in War but not in Domestic riot control.

Yeah, he was the one that told the reporter "Come on, it was water bottles... They can't hurt the cops... They need to toughen up"
