it's not even trending, they are more worried about robin williams, while tragedy is just a click away in ferguson.
TBH, I'm much more upset over the untimely death of robin Williams than by these lowlifes

I know a lot of people complain about the "militarization" of police but this is a prime example of what the equipment is there for.

Yeah, coming from a cop

Did it take them 2 days to figure out how to riot?

These cities and States are buying everything the government is selling that came back from Iraq.
I've seen the tanks, armored vehicles, etc on trains, being shipped to cities and state departments. Looks like Mo highway patrol bought them a lot of toys to use, and this is a perfect time to use it

Don't all those people need to be at work/school in the morning? They need to go ahead and shut it down or they won't get their 8 hours of sleep

Meh, I'm not really thrilled about the image it portrays but if I owned a business in the middle of this chaos or lived nearby if be happy to see a MRAP between these animals and my assets

So a town the size of STL needs one of these every 5 years?

Are there extreme situations where that equipment is justified? Sure.
The issue is the 95% of situations they actually use the equipment and tactics in. You know, the ones where that level of force is completely unwarranted.

The problem is access to all this military grade weaponry and hyperbolic "us versus them" mentality causes itchy trigger fingers.
I'd rather have the national guard called out if things get bad than to to just trust proper restraint.
But tonight, I'm on your boys' side.
