Thats the most damaging thing to the case against the officer. Now that the original account has been discredited new witnesses will be vetted against known evidence, some not known to the public. I suspect thats why the canvass started in earnest for more witnesses because the FBI knew those two were full of shite.

And I thought the 'as a cop I must apologize' sell out (given it may very well have been justified) and MB made us all better speech would have been enough. Ofcourse if the cops had handled it like he did, we never would have had any rioting earlier in the week.

I would agree, they're not on Brown's side, but I don't know that they're on anyone's side. I know some want to jump to the conclusion that it exonerates the cop, but I just don't know what it tells us. I suppose if there was a shot to the back that would be bad for the cop and in that sense this is good for the cop but I don't know what else it tells us beyond that.
