I feel bad for the local fire dept. they are all left behind at the station not using their crowd control toys. Maybe later this week the hoses will bust out.

Why? The Founding Fathers were the end all/be all for the rest of time? Things change, times change, and people change. If the Constitution is "for the people" then the rules of the country should reflect the wishes of the people at that time.
Don't get me wrong, I like it the way it is now, but it has, and will certainly change even more, as this country ebbs and flows.
