What is important here are the acts. Brown had a physical confrontation with the clerk (trusting you guys are right that it's Brown, I haven't looked closely). Showing that propensity to violence just minutes before the shooting changes the entire landscape.
Having said that, it still will not exonerate the cop. There are still a lot of questions that need to be answered about the shooting itself. He may ultimately be exonerated, but it is still way too early to say one way or the other. Even if he is not exonerated though, the picture has still changed.
If Johnson is in that video, his testimony is meaningless at this point. The police department is still going to have a difficult time with Tiffany whatever her name is testimony, along with some of the other witnesses.
Regardless of the outcome of all of that, we still have a very serious problem of abuse of power or militarization or whatever you want to call it. Completely unacceptable.
Agreed

No, it doesn't.

Missouri statute.
All of this is irrelevant as this was a strong arm robbery. I'm not denying that. Robbery and shoplifting are the same thing, taking property.

But the footwear is very distinctive. You can see it in the unedited photos of his body laying in the street.
The hat too. Wasn't it lying in the street?

If you want to distinguish between a violent robbery and a robbery, that is a legitimate distinction to make. There is no real distinction between simple robbery and shoplifting.
Damn, I can't tell if you are trolling are just incredibly stupid.
Define "simple robbery"? Did you just make that up? If I don't show a gun, does that make it "simple robbery"? What if I threaten that I have a gun? What if I threaten to beat the crap out of the clerk? What if I just imply that's what will happen if the clerk doesn't give me his money? All are marginally different and in no way should be in the same boat as trying to steal something and walking out the door of a store without being caught.

for all we know, the cop who shot Brown was told that Brown could be armed and dangerous. those words change everything. wait until the rest of the evidence comes out, including the dispatch, etc.

4-6 shots fired according to report.

Nope. You just have to realize that no matter what evidence is brought to light he will always blame LEO.
No, I won't.

I believe the incident at the store occurred around 11:30-11:35 which doesn't seem like a lot of time to take a report interview witnesses and review tape?
Why don't one of you OT geniuses prove a police cover up and become internationally famous

Exactly I'm saying shopping lifting doesn't justify the shooting

from 11:48-noon the officer was on a sick call, with ambulance, at 11:51 there was a call of a robbery, and 11:52 disp gave description, different officer arrived at store, further description was given, state suspect was walking toward quiktrip, officer left sick call, encountered MB at 12:01, after the shooting at 12:04 a second officer arrived, at 12:05 a sup was dispatched.

Um if you punch a cop in the face, they can shoot you. But that doesn't mean shooting at them over 5 times.
ETA: Remember this is a big 6'4 black guy the size of an offensive lineman. Yeah I'm pretty sure that punch would hurt. This is not a lil skrimpy trayvon martin. This guy is huge.

well no shite it doesn't, but you don't know what happened between the officer and the perp.

It's obvious that most people consider robbery as something that is done by threatening violence or actual violence. You are bringing up legal definitions. That's great, but that's not what most people mean when they say "robbery" vs "shoplifting."

but robbery might, if it further proves he was forceful towards the cop

How can anyone judge the cop at this point? The star witness for Michael Brown's side is most likely an accomplice in a robbery that occurred minutes before his death. How convenient that this Johnson dude hasn't mentioned this fact while he babbles to the press.
This is just another case of making judgments with little info. The cop may have been justified in his actions...let's wait and see.
