Who cares?! People get shot and killed everyday by each other. There isn't this much rioting when the guy on bourbon started shooting up the streets and killed someone. Why is there a double standard? It's pathetic really. I'll continue to only hear about this on the OT. Not watching the news if this crap is on.

Is it just me, or does it seem like every time the state police (whatever state not any particular one) are involved in "policing," that shite just seems to get done right compared to the local PD/SO?

I don't think you've been listening to them this whole time. They're not anti-police. They have no trust for or in local LE and the fact that they were the ones involved in the Brown incident and the one's involved in policing the protests made it worse. Now, the guys who show up after dark....maybe a different story.
Some people hear only the words "frick da police". Some hear the message behind it. This group, you gotta hear the message behind it. The group that shows up after dark...well time will tell because I'm gonna bet there's some that mean the words literally but hopefully there numbers are so small they don't bother.

After watching these videos, I'm now in the camp that the militarization of local police forces should be stopped. There is no valid reason for these cops to be in armored vehicles.

Exactly, which has been my argument from the beginning... You can't expect the protestors to work with you if you are going to show up armed like they are your opposition on the battlefield.

I am so happy someone with a clue is now in charge. A police presence without it feeling like a police presence. They feel like they're being escorted and yet LE is able to monitor them at the same time. What a fricking concept.
Then again, the tank and police line across the street instead of an escort did make for more entertainment.
