So, we live in a country with areas of rampant poverty, jobs are scarce, people have little options for making money.

But, we are allowing illegal immigrants to flood into the country, knowing that the people that will be hurt by illegal immigration are the ones who need the help the most.

In my opinion he should've been in charge from the start. They're better able to handle this than local police, and capt johnson seems to have more experience than the locals.

quote:

Police operations have been placed under Captain Johnson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. He was raised in the Ferguson area.

1-Capt Johnson says he plans to go out to the QT and talk the folks who are there. Promises a different approach. Says will reassess.
2-Capt Johnson also says he has the "resources" to respond if things get out of hand in #Ferguson
3-Capt Johnson says he prayed last night. Believes it's going to "be a different day for our community".
4-Capt Johnson asked students at Riverview Gardens to write to him about how this has affected them.

I think socioeconomic status has more to do with it than race.

You mean the truth?

But fair enough, I was just making the point that there are reasons we have these problems beyond a single incident.

Oh hell no!! We knew immediately that the cop was wrong and started naturally protesting, rioting and looting. It's o.k. because some white guys on OT said so. <---- scarcasm

Very interested. We need a clear story so we can infer the truth from all the witnesses.

Thats what they need to do. Put cops on foot patrol in minimal armor and allow them to interact with the protestors. Johnson said that he planned on walk to the quick e mart himself and interact with the protestors.

This. I can guarantee you. They are not going to attack a cop who doesn't pose a threat all decked out in military gear.

oh snap.. some senator..

eta: Interesting development... Sen. Chappelle helped to lead the "sit down for Mike Brown" protest at the QT last night. She had been caught in tear gas on Tuesday night.
