Sooo...you're saying that people with a family can't protest things they perceive as unjust? I can't go protest what I perceive as a constitutional violation because my family is more important?

Kind of like cops protecting each others, right?

Cliff notes anyone/

Follow up question. I have never been to St. Louis.
I was thinking of stopping by on a drive I am taking, next Tuesday.
Is St' Louis okay? Is this only to the north?

I like that you assume I am a cop. No, I am simply a fan of the institution that helps to keep my family safe on a daily basis.

So, exactly what I said. None of the City hall stuff made sense. What would the police chief do about black on black crime?

I'm ok with that. I think most people would be ok with that.

After the pic I saw last night, maybe not the rubber bullets.

Those may need to go.

That's like saying they have to protect them from Brown Recluse spider bites when they have a house full of fricking water moccasins.

Depends on where you're stopping. This is largely north and a little west. There's been a couple of incidents that seem connected some distances away, but nothing that out of the ordinary for a big city.

I have more fear of being stopped by the police and arrested for something made up or even attacked than I do getting carjacked or robbed.

I'm white, but have had and seen a lot of fricked up police shite.

Let me ask you this. If there were no protests, how would Ferguson likely have handled this shooting? If government wants citizens to participate in the social contract, they have to demonstrate they're serious about participating as well.

NO, a big NO. The white community does not have to protest to get justice. When is the black community going to realize they too can get justice without protesting, protesting before the facts are all in? It is mob mentality and historically spawns a violence spree by their own kind. In essence they have jumped ahead of the cart and given themselves a black eye.

We have no idea how Ferguson would have handled this. They weren't given a chance. Give them the chance and protest the outcome if they don't agree. It's stupid to assume they will do some kind of coverup and participate in some social contract in advance. This is mob rules mentality and far inferior to the current force of LEOs.

It is a slum. I live in Baton Rouge, which is mostly a slum. I have lived in Detroit, which is a complete slum. Typical defense of a crappy town is "you haven't seen all of it." My response is, "I have seen enough

Like all major metro areas, St. Louis has slums. Like all major metro areas, St. Louis has nice places. St. Louis is not, itself, a slum.

I like your analogy. It may not make the point you want, but I like it.

Cool, I was thinking at the least just a couple of pics by the arch and stop for lunch or dinner.
I'm flying to NYC then driving to Witchita then flying back to NOLA. Should be fun.

I give the Black Community this.
Civil disobedience has helped them out a lot along the way.

We can predict how the police will handle this from how police handle situations like this from the past.

I don't think it's stupid to assume a coverup would occur. I live in a largely white suburb of St. Louis and I'd expect cops to coverup a bad shoot here with no racial angle and a lot less on the line.
